Silver Honda Jazz wheel arch repair

Silver Honda Jazz wheel arch repair carried out by Peter Stevenson. ChipsAway (PDS) owner Peter was invited to look at a nasty scuff on the near side front wheel arch on a silver Honda Jazz. Despite the colour and the fact that the damage extends into the front wing, Peter was more than happy to undertake the repair and the Customer was more than happy with the result and the cost. They were especially happy with the fact that the repair was carried out on the drive at home in a few hours, so there was no need for delivery to a workshop and relying on family and friends for travel for the days a conventional repair would take.

How long does a repair take?

How long does a repair take?

People oftern want to know how long a repair will take. Sometimes it is because they have waved a spray can over a repair in the past and think it takes minutes, some think Peter has a magic wand so here are a few examples of work Peter has carried out over the last few months:

Porsche Boxster rear bumper – standard repair that requires extra work to blend the edges of the repair as there are no ‘natural’ edges – about 3 – 4 hours

Vauxhall Corsa rear wheel arch – no issues here, though sometimes their Starsilver can be a pain – about 2 – 3 hours

Honda CRV front bumper – this sort of repair can take a long time as you ease the bumper back into shape – about 5 – 7 hours

Ford Ka rear quarter panel – repair depends very much on the amount of damage – this one took about 4 hours

Toyota MR2 front bumper – due to the age of the car there was a lot of crazing to paint – about 3 – 4 hours

VW Passat door handle – about 2 hours

Mercedes SLK rear bumper – straight forward repair – about 2 – 3 hours

Toyota Avensis rear bumper – well controlled area and a ‘good’ colour – about 2 – 3 hours

Does colour matter?

Does colour matter? Over the last few weeks Peter has repaired more Black cars than ever before.

Most Black cars these days are metallics and pearls. Names like Obsidian and Sapphire are the order of the day, but they are all blacks of one shade or another. Often with 12 or more tints these are complex colours, but ChipsAway Aquaclear system allows Peter to get a perfect match even though most manufacturers have 10 to 20 shades of there own!

So what do you think? Does it matter what colour your car is? Do some colours attract more damage?

Wheel arch damage – what to do next. Call Peter.

Wheel arch damage – what to do next. Call Peter. Local company calls in Peter to repair Silver Leaf Passat wheel arch. As car companies bring out new colours to charm their Customers with, ChipsAway expand their system to allow repairs to be made. Silver Leaf is one of the new silvers on the market today that, at first sight seem to have been developed especially to make life hard for the body shop and SMART repair opperator.

ChipsAway have developed tints to allow the colour to be mixed in their mobile workshops and train their opperators to make good repairs, even in traditionally difficult areas.

So if this sort of thing happens to you why not call Peter on 07830 36 46 86 and see if he can help you too.
