Cheaper paintwork repair on BMW

Cheaper paintwork repair on BMW. After a visit by one of those mindless people who get their kicks from “keying” your car, Peter of ChipsAway (PDS) was called to see if he could help. In this instance the front door and rear quarter panel had been keyed with no damage to the rear door. Sometimes there is a better solution than applying filler, paint and lacquer and Peter saw that this was just such a case. So rather than do the usual thing he applied another technique which can achieve very good results at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods. After the job was done the Customer let it be known that BMW advised the only solution was to spray almost all of the side of the car at a cost of over £700. At almost one sixth of the cost once again ChipsAway (PDS) has a very happy Customer.

Bumper scuff repairs in Clarendon Park

Bumper scuff repairs in Clarendon Park, LE2. Are Peters standards too high? Peter was called to look at a damaged bumper on a Honda Civic and as well as 2 areas that needed repair it was pointed out that the rear bumper had been repaired before in another town and one area was showing as a variation in colour (Cosmic Grey has a number of alternatives). As the earlier repair was close to one of the new repairs, Peter agreed to improve the earlier repair as an act of good will. Once preparation of the rear bumper was started it was clear that the earlier repair was not to the highest standard and Peter made the decision to carry out a much larger repair, in part because a good repair by Peter would highlight the poor quality earlier one.

Key scratch repair in LE2

Key scratch repair in LE2. A few weeks ago Peter carried out a repair to the paint on a silver Peugeot bumper. The Customer was so happy that when their people carrier was visited by vandals who keyed the doors on the passenger side Peter was called back to repair the key scratches. After flatting the scratched area, a high build primer was used to make sure the panel was level again. Sereral coats of the Regency Red paint was added followed by a couple of coats of ChipsAway lacquer. 45 minutes later the lacquer was baked and ready to be polished once the area had cooled down, not long in the autumn chill.
