Paint repairs to BMWs by ChipsAway Leicester for local air-conditioning company. Just for a change here are some before pictures of 2 BMWs Peter worked on for a local firm. The BMW 1 Series had some typical bumper damage, including a hole punched through by a mounting bolt behind the bumper. The second, a 5 Series had been driven slowly past a spikey hedge and done damage to the rear door, rear wing and rear bumper. As the drivers were in something of a rush they were off before I had a chance to take the “after” pictures, so you will have to trust Peter as he was not prepared to “Photoshop” the repair.

Dents – sometimes you will get a small dent, from a shopping trolley for instance, that does not damage the paintwork at all. In that case there are many occasions when the magic that is paintless dent removal can get you out of a hole and I can tell you how to get the best.

Satin White Subaru Impreza bumper repair in Leicester by Peter at ChipsAway Leicester. Most modern colours are produced from one coat of paint followed by protective coats of lacquer. Subarus Satin White, like a number of colours used on high performance cars has 2 colours of paint under the lacquer. Usually a solid colour to give the base, followed by an almost transparent pearl layer that produces the ‘effect.’

The minor damage to the front bumper on this car would usually require a full re-spray of the bumper but the excellent colour matching abilities of the ChipsAway system allows small areas to be matched and blended into the OEM paint. This combined with the many repairs Peter has carried out resulted in a very good repair for a fraction of the cost of a bodyshop.

Audi A3 bumper scuff repair by ChipsAway in Leicester. Even without the recent snow there have been a number of bumper scuffs being repaired by Peter at ChipsAway (PDS) Ltd in Leicester. This is a typical repair to a bumper. While there Peter also repaired a damaged door mirror and some light scuffs on a rear wheel arch.

Focus rear bumper paint repair. When the driver of the Focus caught the rear of their nearly new Focus on the garden wall, they damaged not just the bumper, but the rear quarter panel. Peter was still able to carry out a good repair that left the Customer delighted.

BMW 118d paintwork repairs. A local company who entrust their cars to Peter at ChipsAway Leicester had a 1 series BMW that was looking rather un-loved. Repairs were carried out to both bumpers and a front wheel-arch and now no-one knows about it.

Audi A6 bumper repair. Following  an impact with a low wall the front bumper was damaged along with the grill round the spot light. The Customer obtained a new grill from Audi and as part of the service, Peter removed the old grill and fitted the new one once the paintwork had been repaired.

Painting in the snow. One thing that has suffered has been my posting while the weather has been bad. Seems that I need to be nearer the workface more, so less chance to get on line. This is just to show you I was working on the 2nd February 2009 and while I was Robin Banks and the Crew were telling everyone which schools were closed. What fun.
