Perforated Porsche

Perforated Porsche. Now that you can pick up a Boxter for well under £7000 these days you have to take a good look at what you are spending your money on.

Despite a well respected ani-perforation warranty they are still old enough to have been visited by the ‘tin worm.’ Peter has visited a few now with evidence of rust below the rear quarter vents. There seems to be no sign of stone chip damage and the inside of the panel shows rust so it is coming from the inside.

Caught early it can often be saved, but be aware.

Should Peter leave a card?

Should Peter leave a card? Car parks, both public and private are places Peter spends a lot of time in. And we all know when we visit a car park, we will see many examples of damage to paintwork that Peter could repair. Should Peter put a business card under a wiper blade?

If you have found this site you probably already know how to get such damage fixed at reasonable cost but, despite ChipsAway being active in the UK for 15 years, there are lots of people out there who still think the only solution is a few days in a body shop, a big bill and no guarantee of a good colour match.

If you visited a car park in Leicester City, how would you react to one of Peter’s cards being tucked under your wiper blade, why not let him know.

BMW paintwork fixed in LE1

BMW paintwork fixed in LE1. When the rear bumper on a new BMW was scuffed, local firm called in Peter at ChipsAway (PDS) Ltd.

Only weeks old and local driver returns to find his car has been damaged in the car park. Having heard about Peter’s skills he was asked to quote for the repair. As the main dealer had advised a new bumper they were not sure if Peter would be able to help but Peter was confident a repair would be invisible once complete.

After filling the small scratches and applying ChipsAway primer a very smooth and stable base was ready to accept the specially mixed water based paint. 2 coats of Aquaclear lacquer on top and the area was polished to a high shine to match the OEM paintwork and all for about 1/4 of the price of a new bumper.

Rusty Ford gets the ChipsAway treatment

Rusty Ford gets the ChipsAway treatment. Peter usually does not touch rust, because, good as the ChipsAway system is, the time scale makes good rust removal next to impossible. But when friend Tom came and asked if anything could be done to help reduce the rust on his wifes car Peter thought he would have a go.

As you can see, from the outside there is little to see, but after a little work with his trusty Dremel the true extent of the damage can be seen. Once cut out a rust converter was used to slow its return followed by a good primer. ChipsAway water based paint was then sprayed on top followed by their AquaClear lacquer.

The result looks good but does not carry the usual ChipsAway 2 year warrenty, but Peter does not expect it to show for quite some time. Anything more than this level of rust will not be tackled, but Peter is always happy to have a chat.

London scuffs on FIAT Grand Punto

London scuffs on FIAT Grand Punto. After a few months working in London both front and rear bumpers and 2 alloy wheels were very much the worse for wear. A new job in the USA meant that Dad had to get the car sorted and sold. Dad called Peter who was able to fix the pearl red paint and the alloy wheels.

If this has happened to your car, in Leicester or London, then call Peter on 07830 36 46 86 and see if he can help you.
