No matter how careful you are while maneuveringyour car, there can always be an unexpected crunch in the dark. A little re-shaping was needed, to remove the high spots, followed by a light skim of filler to return the wing to the correct shape. This was followed with ChipsAway primer. While this was baking, Peter mixed the correct version of the colour. Three or four coats of AquaClear paint covered the primer and this was followed by the environmentally friendly ChipsAway lacquer. Once this was baked, a little flatting and polishing brought the repair up to the same high glass as the rest of the wing.

Mondeo Door Repair carried out by Peter of ChipsAway (PDS) Ltd. After parking on a friend’s drive this car, when reversed off, gained damage to the rear door. Rather than having the door skin replaced the owner called Peter who was able to repair the door at a lower cost and on the owners drive.

How long does a repair take?

People oftern want to know how long a repair will take. Sometimes it is because they have waved a spray can over a repair in the past and think it takes minutes, some think Peter has a magic wand so here are a few examples of work Peter has carried out over the last few months:

It’s a very small world. When Peter went to see Tom to quote on some damage to his 08 plate Honda Civic it was clear Tom was not a local. Does colour matter? Over the last few weeks Peter has repaired more Black cars than ever before.

Most Black cars these days are metallics and pearls. Names like Obsidian and Sapphire are the order of the day, but they are all blacks of one shade or another.
